Armando al Pantheon, Rome

Open for lunch and dinner, this place is a hit. Definitely a touristy spot, but wouldn't call it a tourist trap. Very good food, wine and experience. Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time as they book up fast!

Vino (wine)--

  • 2016 Giovanni Rosso Barolo​

Primi Piatti (first plates):

  • Spaghetti alla Carbonara (spaghetti with egg, pecorino cheese, pork cheek and black pepper)

  • Stracciatella romana (egg drop soup with vegetable broth, parmigiano cheese, lemon and parsley)

Secondi Piatti (second plates)-- 

  • Saltimbocca alla romana (veal with ham and sage, cooked with white wine)

  • Coda alla vaccinara (oxtail stew) *this was a special off the regular menu

Contorno (side)--

  • Cicoria saltata (chicory sautéed with garlic, oil and chili pepper) 

Dolce (dessert)--

  • Maritozzo con gelato alla vaniglia (brioche served with vanilla ice cream)
